These are the named individuals who will lead the lockdown response. You need at least one Incident Control Officer and one deputy.
The DfE template requires you to define distinct signals for lockdown initiation and stand-down. These must be different from your fire alarm signal.
Must be clearly distinguishable from the fire alarm. Consider a verbal announcement over PA as a backup.
The stand-down must be given verbally by a named, recognised person to prevent confusion.

Identify the rooms and spaces most suitable for lockdown. The DfE template requires you to list these in order of preference. Also identify your off-site place of safety.
The DfE template requires a pre-arranged off-site venue in case evacuation from the site becomes necessary.
Define any site-specific procedures and add your emergency and utility contacts.
Include anything specific to your buildings, site layout, or special circumstances (e.g. shared sites, SEN pupils, nursery provision).
